Some snowy scenes from Barry for the northern hemisphere winter solstice

Hurrah! I’ve managed to secure the snowy scenes Barry shot last week around Lichfield, in between selling calendars. Sadly he wasn’t able to get many images of the canals seeing as we’re mostly stationary at the moment.

Enjoy …

Areandare surrounded by snow at Hopwas, outside The Tame Otter

Sunday 11th December 2017 – the Lakehouse Brewery gazebo strategically sited outside Lichfield Calendar Club! Graham mans the stand and is surprised by how much craft beer he sells despite the challenging weather

Barry’s stroll around the Cathedral City …

One of the hardy traders who still opened on the Sunday – trying to sell Prossecco

Lichfield Cathedral – as seen during our walk to work on Monday 12th December

What a talented husband I have!

Over the next week or so I’ll aim to post another couple of blogs with Barry’s photos from 2017. I’ve still to write the Scottish canals post, and he’s recently edited the Brighton birthday shots.

Happy Yule

To everyone near and far, northern and southern hemispheres, Happy Yuletide. Today marks the lowest point of the sun in the sky here. From tomorrow we begin to see the days lighten as we head towards the New Year. Thank goodness.

  2. The interesting think is is that today is the shortest day but the evenings have been getting lighter since the 10th but the mornings are still getting later until about the 2nd of January.
